THIS WEEK in Parks and Recreation:
Sunday, July 27: Cinema Sundays presents another passport stamp event, The Sandlot playing at the Basehor Civic Campus Amphitheater. The movie will start at dusk (around 8:45pm), however, join us starting at 7:00pm for a special mini-event prior to the movie. Our dessert truck, The Melt Box will open beginning at 7:00pm. We will also have Alleyway Crafted Flavors on hand. They will be selling Kettle Corn and hand-squeezed lemonade.

Basehor Parks and Recreation
Welcome to the Basehor Parks and Recreation website. We are excited to share all of the Special Events that we have planned for 2025, as well as our Art in the Park program. Below is an updated list of events that are scheduled for '25!
April 26 - Hydro Dipping Art Event - Ages 7 - 17 - We will be hydro dipping 6" terra cotta flower plants that will be gifted to various Senior Living residents. Includes a grilled hot dog, chips and drink!
May 1 - Basehor's Blooming Festival - Lots of offerings this day! Along with the opening of the splash pad, we will have food trucks, the M-80s band, snow hill slide, petting zoo, camel rides, caricaturist, air brush tattoo artist and much more! Petting zoo opens at 4pm, food trucks at 5pm along with entertainment and activities running from 5pm until 9pm.
3rd Thursdays, May - Aug. - Join us at Civic Campus for a concert, dessert truck and more! Every 3rd Thursday in May, June, July and August.
Cinema Sundays - Join us at Civic Campus on the following Sundays for a movie, dessert truck and more! June 8 & 22, July 13 & 27 and August 10.
Art in the Park - Mondays and Wednesdays for (4) weeks each in June and July, Basehor Parks & Rec will be hosting Art in the Park. See the Art in the Park tab on the top bar of the website!
Sat., Oct. 11 - Skeleton Ruck Run/Walk & Kid's Trick or Treat - This is a UNIQUE event with lots of ghoulish fun! Every participant will get to carry their own 3' skeleton in a ruck sack for a fun run/walk (we also have small skeletons for the kiddos!). Kids will also trick-or-treat along the trail as they complete their ruck run/walk!
Sat., Nov. 22 - Mayor's Christmas Tree Lighting - Christmas cheer will be spread at the Civic Campus when the Mayor lights up the City's Christmas Tree. Santa will visit offering snacks, cocoa & coffee, along with many youth activities will highlight the night. You will also enjoy a walk-around magician, Alex the Elf & the Grinch! All kids in attendance will also receive their own ornament from Santa!
