Hydro Dipping Art Event
Sunday, March 30
Sessions every 30-mins, beginning at 11am
Ages 7 - 17
Join Basehor Parks & Recreation on Saturday, April 5 in
creating colorful flowerpots through the process of hydro dipping!
Each
registrant will be provided with a 6" terra cotta flowerpot to
transform into a beautiful work of art. The flowerpots will then be
saved and put on display during the Basehor's Blooming Festival that will
be held on Thursday, May 1. Just prior to the festival, a flower
will be added to each pot and will be placed to line the trail at Civic
Campus during the festival. Following the festival, each flowered
pot will be donated to a local Senior Living facility resident immediately
after.
During
the festival, each flowerpot will have the "artist's" name on
display with their finished product! They will also receive a card
to write a message to the senior citizen that will be the lucky recipient
of their masterpiece!
We
hope to introduce a unique art concept to Basehor's youth and interject
pride in the city festival, while giving some of Basehor's senior citizens
a small token of caring from their community.
There
will be different sessions offered for this event, as the hydro dipping
process takes staff supervision for each creation.
Each
registrant will also receive a grilled hot dog, chips and drink!
Time slots will be in 30-minute increments beginning at
11am.
Maximum registrants per session will be 20.
